Bolognano is a small village in the province of Pescara and has a tiny population of 1300 people. This tiny village is home to the classic vineyard of Zaccagnini. The vineyard boasts many awards and is well known throughout the world. Now over 80 years old Zaccagnini still manages to hold onto it's traditions and attaches a little bit of the vineyard to each bottle, literally!
The vineyards are over 80 hectares and combine local grape varieties as well as international ones. The vineyards are about 200 metres above sea level and benefit from the cool winds blowing in from the gorges of Popoli.
The vineyard currently produces 500,000 bottles a year and is the leading vineyard in the county of Abruzzo. Although great care if taken with the lands, vines and wine making processes to retain the traditional methods of winemaking the vineyard implements cutting edge vinification technologies to help improve the wines.
The vineyard produces over 10 different wines each year, red, white and rosè.
