TCD OPINION

Lagrein is not for everyone. A tiny production grape with a characterful nose. If you like trying new wines and like distinctive flavours then give this wine a whirl.

This Lagrein is characterised by a lively ruby red colour and a variety of aromas reminiscent of ripe red fruits. A full, pleasantly warm and intense wine with a velverty softness. A red wine of distinction, unique in its was, and only to be found in South Tyrol. It goes exceedingly well with meat, roasts and spicy cheeses, but it is also a wine to savour and for meditation, above all when it is drunk following several years of ageing and maturation in the bottle.

87 Points for a solid example of the varietal and a nice entry price in the reds of the Alto Adige.
